Daily movement and the additional unlock methods require Orynt 1.1.0 or later. Available features depend on your installed version.

GETTING STARTED

A few choices. A clearer day.

1. Subscribe from Home

Tap View plans on the Focus screen, or restore an existing purchase. Free download; blocking features require a subscription. New US prices from October 8, 2026: $3.99/month or $29.99/year (previously $4.99/month or $39.99/year). Both plans include all features. Eligible new subscribers can receive a one-week free trial when offered by Apple. Apple shows your local price before you confirm.

2. Connect Screen Time

After your subscription is active, connect Screen Time from the Focus screen or when you open New Rule. Approve Apple’s individual authorization, then choose apps using Apple’s private picker. No Screen Time permission is requested before subscription.

3. Create a rule

Choose apps, categories, or websites. You can also enter website domains manually and include adult website filtering in the same rule. Block your selections, or allow only selected individual apps and websites. Add allowed hours or a shared daily budget. Manually entered domains support always-on rules, schedules, and daily movement; use Apple’s picker for usage-tracked daily website budgets. Creating a rule needs no challenge. Choose essay, walk/run, wait, or a combination as its saved requirements.

HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING

A boundary you understand.

How does Daily movement earn access?

Choose Daily movement in New rule. Pick a daily goal of 100–20,000 steps or 25 yards–3 miles (about 23 metres–4.83 kilometres), select apps or websites to block, and choose 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes, or Rest of the day. Rest-of-day access ends at the next midnight in the rule’s saved time zone; starting late gives less time. Creation needs no activity. Carry your iPhone: activity since midnight in the rule’s saved reset time zone counts, even before you create the rule or open Orynt. Apple Watch-only activity and Health imports are not included.

Return to Orynt to refresh your progress. Meeting the goal makes one session ready. Only tapping Start access starts the continuous countdown. It continues while another app is open, Orynt is closed, or the phone is locked. It cannot be paused or restarted; ending early forfeits the remainder. Other rules still apply. If adult filtering is included, that rule’s adult filtering pauses too.

Unclaimed time expires at the next reset. A fixed-duration session started before midnight keeps its full duration; Rest of the day ends at midnight. The next session cannot overlap an active session. Choose separate essay, walk/run, or wait requirements to change or delete a daily rule. Select one method, any pair, or all three, and require either any one or all selected methods. Each change or deletion needs a new attempt; daily activity cannot complete it. Goal and duration edits begin after the next reset. Deletion remains available without a subscription.

How do ordinary breaks, changes, and deletion work?

Create a rule with essay, walk/run, wait, any pair, or all three. With multiple methods, choose Complete all or Complete any one. The saved requirements apply equally to a timed break, changing the rule, or deleting it. Existing rules retain their original essay requirement.

Essays require 25–1,000 words, or 50–2,000 characters in character-count languages. Walking ranges from 25 yards to 3 miles; waiting ranges from 1–60 minutes. Breaks last 15–60 minutes and pause the restrictions in one rule. Other rules remain active.

Each action requires a fresh attempt. Editing keeps the old protection active until Save succeeds. Deletion remains available without a subscription after completing the requirements.

How are movement attempts and waiting measured?

Tap Start attempt, then carry your iPhone while walking or running. Orynt reads estimated distance from Motion & Fitness; it does not record GPS routes. Earlier activity does not count. Distance estimates can vary, especially on short walks. Leave the app or lock the phone while waiting, then return to claim your break or confirm your change.

Walking and waiting can run together, and you can write an essay during the countdown. Attempts expire after 24 hours; a break attempt also expires at the end of its current blocked period. Unverifiable timing requires a fresh attempt. Cancelling resets progress.

How does the essay editor work?

Copy, paste, drag-and-drop, dictation, and Writing Tools are disabled. Letters and numbers count toward character limits; spaces, punctuation, and emoji do not. Language changes do not change saved requirements. The editor checks length, not meaning. Essay text is never saved or uploaded, and closing unfinished work requires confirmation.

How do schedules and daily budgets work?

Allowed hours repeat every day in your device’s local time and can cross midnight. Both the allowed and blocked intervals must be at least 15 minutes. Daily budgets apply to all selections in one rule together and include earlier activity on this phone today. They reset at local midnight.

Keep automatic date and time enabled. Schedule changes and break endings depend on iOS Device Activity callbacks, which may be delayed. Overlapping rules combine; a break does not pause a separate rule.

What does the adult content filter cover?

In New Rule, turn on Block adult websites to include Apple’s automatic website filter in supported browsing contexts. Choose the rule’s unlock requirements before saving. It does not inspect or guarantee removal of adult content inside social feeds, messages, or every app.

Why are apps still blocked, or no longer blocked?

Check the rule’s hours and overlapping restrictions, then reopen Orynt to refresh its state. Help is available in Settings → Support & privacy → Help. Open Screen Time permissions and limitations for details about permission changes and system enforcement.

If selections need replacing, complete the saved requirements, edit the rule, and choose the apps again.

How do I restore or cancel a subscription?

Use Restore purchases on the welcome screen or in Settings with the Apple Account that purchased the plan. Use Settings → Manage subscription to change or cancel it. Existing protections remain after expiration, and you can delete rules or turn off the filter without paying, after completing the saved requirements. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

What stays on my device?

Rules, app-selection tokens, and up to 100 recent unlock records stay on your device and may be included in device backups. Essays are not saved or uploaded. No app account is required, and there are no ads or analytics SDKs. Read the privacy policy.
